Doublehop VPN scammed me — what I learned.

Anonymity comes at a price. When you remove identities and social contracts, there’s no trust. I trusted Doublehop VPN (https://doublehop.me) and got conned. I paid them $33 for a yearly subscription. They blocked me from their support WhatsApp number.

On November 22nd, I bought the Doublehop VPN yearly package. I was excited about trying out their service. The cost was rather cheap and I was happy with the deal.

I didn’t get any order confirmation. I e-mailed them to ask them to process my order. I also sent them a WhatsApp message. I called them on WhatsApp and on the other end was a prepubescent voice saying that he would process the order by evening that day.

Three days on, I didn’t receive my VPN configuration files. I pinged them back and they blocked me. I tried to ping them from another number; blocked yet again.

So don’t fall into the trap. The scammers reside at https://doublehop.me/. Steer clear of them. They will scam you of your hard-earned money.

These businesses are set up to practice fraud. They should be banned from operating. Sadly bitcoin does not inherit customer protection like regular currency, so all us scammed customers are left to bite the dust.

A couple of other customers I found who’ve been scammed by Doublehop VPN are listed below. If you too have been scammed, please comment and make your case.
